Vascular Therapy

This incredible video explains how optimizing blood circulation holds the key to health, vitality, and youthfulness.  Blood touches every cell and organ and runs through the heart 24 hours a day, 7 days a week bringing oxygen, nutrients and removing metabolic waste.  Without proper blood flow, individuals experience muscle and joint discomfort, chronic illness, and tissues die and organs do not function properly.

Our circulatory system is made up of 11.5% arteries, 14.5% veins, and 74% micro-vessels or capillaries.  The heart pumps blood through the larger veins and arteries but relies on the additional power of the autonomous pumping action of the capillaries. It is the capillaries that reach the most remote parts of the body.

As our blood circulates every day delivering oxygen and nutrients to cells, tissues, and organs, it is through the thin walls of the capillaries that the circulatory system’s most important swap takes place—the exchange of oxygen and nutrients for carbon dioxide and metabolic waste.

What influences blood flow?

Often it is our lifestyle choices that decrease circulation.  Some examples would be smoking, little physical activity, and chronic illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease. Age also plays a major role. When we are young the pumping motion in the capillaries occurs 3-5 times in a minute. When we are older or have a chronic illness, it can be a little as 1 time every 10 minutes.

What are some of the benefits of good blood circulation?

Together with a healthy lifestyle, you can live life optimally slowing down the aging process. Your immune system is stronger, the heart, lungs, muscles, tissues and organs function properly and efficiently. Your body is able to remove waste products more efficiently.

What are some of the risks or signs of poor blood circulation?

Some signs may include accelerated aging, anxiety, chronic illness, low energy and fatigue, brain fog or poor concentration, erectile dysfunction, poor sleep, autoimmune issues, hair loss, skin conditions, discomfort in the muscles and joints. In severe cases, poor circulation may lead to amputation of the affected limb or loss of eyesight.
