Find Back Pain Relief

Muscle and joint pain -- and other health issues -- could be the result of muscles throughout the body not functioning properly or not “pulling their weight.”

Your central nervous system acts much like a circuit breaker in your home. A muscle or muscle group that is not able to perform properly is “shut down” to protect it from further injury or tearing. When this happens, other muscles are recruited and take over.  Muscle or joint pain and imbalances may occur, and the body cannot function properly. These various “shut downs” can be caused by overuse, injury, nutritional deficiencies, or trauma.

In this video, Dr. Keith Lavender is re-testing his patient after using Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT) therapy on the gluteus maximus muscle. She can hold her leg and resist the pressure she was not able to do prior to treatment. The muscles are now strong.

The gluteus maximus, one of the body’s largest muscles, spans across the hip joint and supports the sacrum and the femur. It affects lower back, knee and ankle functioning.  A strong glute muscle helps to stabilize the pelvis and support the hips when bending and straightening up, doing squats, or pushing up from the ground. When these muscles are strong, the back experiences less pressure.

Before treating a patient, a certified AMIT practitioner will test over 600 muscles and muscle groups to find those not functioning optimally. Once muscles are determined aberrant, a plan for the patient is created and treatment to “turn on” the muscles begin. It is important to note, exercise and massage cannot strengthen or turn these muscles back on.

The Advanced Muscle Integration Technique, or AMIT, is an advanced sports technique that tests and identifies muscles and muscle groups that have been “shut off” by the central nervous system to minimize stress and injury. These aberrant muscles can be the root cause of muscle and joint pain, weakness, imbalances, and recurrent injuries.
